They are compared because both show how power can be shared or hoarded. But the comparison feels like theory; our reality was a state that chose only one language, one religion. In Belgium, they made space. Here, they erased us. My grandfather lost his land and his vote, not by law, but by a nationalism that made him a stranger in his own north. So the difference isn't policy, it is safety.
