Boxing India

Arre, I was watching our boys sparring on my old TV between restocking notebooks and mosquito coils — the shop was full of kids who should be at school, but they were glued to the screen. My thought: all this federation committee talk, bhai, but will it get a village lad from Medak to a world medal? We ran a local boxing event last year on a muddy ground with borrowed gloves, and the real fighters never got a chance because the forms got lost somewhere. Jaldi karo, yaar — the boy who wakes up at 4 am to run on gravel doesn't have time for slow paperwork.

Bas, same thing happens at our grain market — the forms for the subsidy get lost in some babu's drawer, and the farmer who woke at 4 am to water his field loses the year. Jaldi karo is right, but jaldi without rules just means the next powerful man's nephew gets the borrowed gloves.
