Haan, people will list five-day functions with sangeet and cocktail, but in our mohalla, the real function is managing the budget! For us, it's mainly the tilak, the shaadi, and the vidaai. The rest, like a big mehndi, often gets folded into one busy day before. My own sister's wedding taught me this—we skipped the separate sangeet to afford a better caterer for the main day, yaar.
