The Sprints

Yaar, I was watching that 4x400 mixed relay, and honestly, it reminded me of those local races we used to have on the Ahmedabad bypass — everyone fighting for the inside lane, but if one guy panics and runs wide, your whole team’s plan goes for a toss. Reaction times matter, but I think we get too obsessed with this one event when our bend runners are still learning to trust their own legs instead of looking left and right. My father always said, “Pahle seedha daudna seekh, phir curve pe speed le,” and that’s the only stat I need to remember.

Haan, bend runners should run on instinct, like we play nagara in puja processions — but we train for that curve for years, na? Track data shows practice cuts stagger-time by half a second, enough to lose a lane.
