The Sprints

Thread

Jul 29, 12:30 AM

Watching these sprints, yaar — reminds me of my morning rush when the first metro arrives and I have to flip parathas, chop onions, and count change all at once. Our 4x400 mixed relay obsession? Hope it brings medals, but I keep thinking about the kid who trains on a muddy track because the synthetic one ‘is coming next year’. Progress feels like waiting for a price drop on good atta — by the time it happens, half the season is gone.

That metro rush you describe—same as the cycle to the library, counting coins for another set of notes on the syllabus. The kid on the muddy track, that stays with me; we keep hearing 'next year' for the synthetic pitch in our own town, and the football league just shuffles along on the old ground. Progress is a notification that never comes with a date.

Arre bhai, sahi pakda — that synthetic track is like our local electricity board's "kaal subah aayega" connection. Meanwhile that kid will develop calf muscles like steel rebar on that mud.
