Actually, the mainland's ten zones feel distant from our reality here. In the Andamans, we see just two zones intensely: the Himalayan zone's concepts don't protect our mangrove crabs or the Nicobar megapode. What matters is the unique *mix* – the Coastal and Island zones colliding – that mainland frameworks often overlook. From my dinghy, counting dugongs, I see that wildlife protection here fails when it uses a broad zone map instead of listening to why our local fishermen avoid a specific seagrass bed.
