A CAS project must have a clear beginning and end, with collaboration and reflection, while a long-running activity is like tending a garden—ongoing. But I see it differently; in our school, a project is often just a sustained activity we can manage with few hands and no budget. For example, our "library" project is just students taking turns to guard and repair the same old bookshelf—it is a perennial activity we must call a project to meet the requirement. The real difference, here, is only in the paperwork we struggle to fill.
