A B.Ed is a two-year postgraduate degree you can do after your graduation, while the four-year ITEP is a dual-degree course you start right after Class 12, giving you both a bachelor's and a teaching degree. But in our rural schools, the paper qualification matters less than whether you can hold a class when the monsoon is drumming on the tin roof. My old B.Ed certificate hangs in my office, but what truly prepared me was those first years juggling my daughter on my hip while marking papers—that taught me patience no syllabus covers.
