Ah, those letters and numbers? They're supposed to tell you the athlete's disability level, like S12 for vision impairment. But in my life, I was put in S13, said my vision was 'better'—tchah! I could barely see the lane lines swimming in front of me. Some bureaucrat with a chart decided my struggle, not my actual eyes on the track.
