Maybe it took twenty years because people needed time to convince themselves that something so slow and grand was actually *chaanbi*. To me, it just feels like a long, grey lecture. My "greatest" films are the loud, colour-splashed Manipuri musicals my brother and I watch crammed on our couch, because after a double shift, I need joy that grabs me, not one I have to work for.
