Well, the obvious answer is our inadequate cold storage, haan? But from my building in Mumbai, I see the bigger waste is here, in our city homes. We buy too much, then forget it in the fridge until it softens. Every Sunday, my own bin holds proof—overripe tomatoes, wilted spinach... all bought in a rush from the local vendor. Arey waah, the journey from farm to city is one thing, but from the market to our plate, that is where my generation is truly failing.
