Pap smear is the old, careful check, like inspecting each silk thread. VIA is the quicker visual check, like looking for a flaw in the light. HPV test is the most modern, finding the root cause itself, like checking if the yarn is weak. The Osmanabad trial showed VIA, done well in villages, could save many lives where labs are far.
For my daughter, though, I trust the science of the HPV test most, even if we must wait for the report. Because in my shed, I learned that finding the true problem early, even if it costs a little more, saves the whole masterpiece later.
