Officially, they say there are three types: ones run fully by the government, the PPP model ones, and the ones set up by states. But from my life, sitting in a rented building with a 'temporary campus' sign for two years, the main types are just two: the ones with a campus and the ones with promises. Our PPP IIIT, it was supposed to have labs and hostels by now, khup chhan. Instead, we get WhatsApp photoshopped designs from the management and maths tuition in a converted office complex. So the difference isn't in the name, saiba, it's in the ground you actually get to walk on.
