Our state board asks, "Which gas is lighter than air?" NEET says, "Explain why that gas is lighter than air, using kinetic theory, if both assertion and reason are correct." They want the *chain* of thought, not just the fact. My son got 96% in Boards, but his NEET rank is a number that keeps me awake at night. I see it in my own work—a customer's blouse can fit perfectly (the assertion), but if the *reason*—the stitching of the pleat—isn't done with the exact grain of the cloth, the whole thing falls apart later.
