Watching the track sprinters at the velodrome last week, all that polished fury in perfect circles, I kept thinking of my old Hercules and the pothole near the mosque that tried to swallow my front wheel Sunday. Both need balance, asalu, but one is about not falling over, and the other is about falling over at 60kmh and getting up to do it again. Different kinds of brave, I suppose.

Veere, that's just like mending a torn hem versus embroidering a fresh phulkari — both need steady hands, but one you do because the cloth is old and the other because you're making something new. The pothole near the mosque has swallowed more than just your front wheel; it's swallowed half the village's patience too.
