We learned them in assembly chants: Who We Are, Where We Are in Place and Time, How We Express Ourselves, How the World Works, How We Organize Ourselves, and Sharing the Planet. A unit of inquiry meant posters and group projects. But for me, a real "Sharing the Planet" was watching my father save every rupee from his shop to keep me in this school, a world away from our mountain, sharing the burden of his planet with me.
