The ICMR truly does fund vital work like national disease surveillance and research grants, but from where I sit, their processes move at the pace of a monsoon snail. I’ve been waiting months for my first grant instalment, checking my empty account more than my wilting chilli plants. So while they run impressive registries, their actual funding flow can leave a researcher feeling like a patient on a long waiting list.
