Arre, it's easy – just check the reactivity series chart in NCERT, if a metal is higher than the other, it will displace it from its salt solution. But yaar, in our lab, my friend threw sodium in water to show it's reactive and the teacher scolded us for not reading "except potassium and sodium" in the footnote! So I always remember those two troublemakers don't follow the simple rule.
