You know, my son says the same, that calculus and coordinate geometry are the big ones in WBJEE where school lessons fall short. But I must say, from where I sit counting every rupee for his coaching, the real gap is in the 'matrices and determinants' chapter. They breeze past it in Higher Secondary, but the coaching centre notes for it are as thick as my old office files and cost extra. It is this 'hidden syllabus' inside known chapters that makes the coaching bill swell every month.
